Corinthian Gulf · Greece
A small port where the mountains meet the sea — clear water, pebble shore, fresh fish, and silence.
At the foot of Mount Gerania, where pine forests give way to the Corinthian Gulf, Schinos is a fishing village that has stayed small and unhurried.
The drive from Loutraki — just 40 minutes — winds through the mountain villages of Perachora and Pisia, through olive groves and orange trees, before arriving at a quiet pebble beach and a little harbour.
Crystal-clear water and a calm shore. The beach is never crowded — most of the summer it feels like it belongs to you.
The taverns by the harbour serve what came in that morning. Grilled fish, octopus, and chilled white wine while the boats rock beside you.
The Gerania ridge behind the village opens into a network of hiking paths through forest and rocky clifftops with views over the gulf.
The waterfront café is the social centre of the village. Order a Greek coffee and watch the light change on the water.
One of the region's most popular beach bars operates here each summer, hosting concerts and DJ nights on the shore.
The drive through Geraneia — from pines and sycamores to olives and citrus — is part of arriving. Take it slowly.
Take the Athens–Corinth motorway (A8) and exit at Loutraki. From Loutraki, follow the signs towards Perachora and Pisia — the mountain road through Geraneia leads straight to Schinos.
The coastal scenery begins near Perachora and doesn't stop until you arrive.
